Romeo gate-crashes a ball given by his family's enemies, the Capulets, only to fall in love with their daughter Juliet. The supporting cast includes Anthony Dowell as Benvolio, David Blair as Mercutio and Desmond Doyle as a menacing Tybalt, under director Paul Czinner. Prokofiev's glittering score, with its many varied textures, spellbinding musical drama and exquisite orchestration, reflects every nuance of the story. The music for the entire ballet will be performed completely live on both evenings by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
