The 1999 Bath Shakespeare Festival is an extraordinary range of events which illustrate Shakespeare's continuing ability to stimulate artists of every type and to inspire work that is funny, moving, energetic, lyrical and brutal. Our major theme this year is the tragedies and contemporary responses to them. In addition there is a superlative range of events, talks and music. Look out for the Bard Bar Quiz, a chance for everyone to prove their expertise in a Shakespeare Pub Quiz, to be held in taverns across Bath. Booking opens May 98.
