Details

Vivian Ellis prize to encourage new writing for the musical stage - awarded annually. The Vivian Ellis Prize is supported by: the Performing Right Society, Stoll Moss Theatres, Warner/Chappell Music Limited, Rose-Morris and the King's Head Theatre. A panel of musical experts including Jeremy Sams, Anthony Drewe, George Stiles (first winners of the Prize), and a cast of west end performers taking time out form shows to prepare extracts from 9 new musical theatre pieces. Musically staged by Bill Deamer, with no fewer than 5 musical directors working on the extracts. The charity and awards are sponsored by The Performing Right Society, BBC Wales, Really Useful Theatres, The Stage, Ticketmaster, Tiffany and Co, Warner/Chappell and Herbert Kretzmer.
