Eternal Flame archiveBased on the fifteenth century morality play Everyman, the story is updated to the greed and materialism of the 1980's. JJ is our reluctant hero, greeted at The Pearly Gates by Saint Peter, who treats Judgement Day like a TV game show. He has to account for life on Earth before being allowed entry to Heaven. This includes 'crimes of fashion', like a dodgy Limahl haircut and designer stubble, to affairs with Essex Girls. Worse, he has to mend the broken heart of his lover Tina. No easy feat when you are dead and she is still alive. During his hilarious and often moving day of reckoning, we bump into Bob Geldof, Michael Jackson, Boy George and John Lennon amongst others, and see the face of God! The action is set to a fantastic array of hit songs from the decade that brought us everything from Madness to Madonna and Phil Collins to Wham. Script Associate Terry Morrison
