Footsteps to the Moon takes a powerful look at the horror of war, mankind's continued inhumanity towards itself and the undying dream of hope for a better tomorrow. The city of Bastion lies devastated by the ongoing 'Decade War'. the once-proud city's wasted boulevards still echo to a seemingly never-ending bombardment of shell and rocket fire, its alleyways fought over hand-to-hand by both enemy and inhabitants alike as they struggle for food and shelter. Among the twisted girders and rubble of what had been the city's mental asylum a group of survivors struggle to make sense of things in the deep cellars of what was once their prison.
