Through their eyes, we view the life of a man who 'had the wrong looks, height, face and race' to make it, but is now arguably known worldwide as 'the greatest entertainer that ever lived.' Throw into the mix vulnerability, love, inferiority, gambling, trials, addiction, tribulation, charisma, popularity, drink, nicotine, sex, success, fame, destruction, desolation, inspiration, triumph and acceptance, and see how the central themes of ambition and aspiration are tackled and conquered in a series of individual lives.
