During the American Revolutionary War, the maverick Dick Dudgeon is wrongly identified by the English forces as dangerous rebel: a turn of events that unsettles the moral certainties of the wife of the local pastor. In 2012 the Society of Authors, Mercury Musical Developments and RADA held a competition for new musicals based on the plays of George Bernard Shaw.
