Five years after the publication
Les Miserables Victor Hugo began writing what one critic described as 'the maddest book in recognised literature'. The book was 'L'Homme Qui Rit - The Laughing Man. Chicken Shed's new musical version comes complete with a singing bear, a dancing corpse, a shipwreck, a frozen woman, a torture chamber, and the entire House of Lords behaving like football hooligans at the last Night of the Proms...but
The Laughing Man is also a love story, with 20 new songs by Jo Collins and a book and lyrics by Chris Bond whose
Sweeney Todd was made into a musical by Stephen Sondheim.
Performers George Costigan, John Sargeant, Geoffrey Boud, Julia Nield, Emily Gardner, Michael Offei, Joseph Morton, Peter Dowse, James Dunbar, Lucia Bellini, Anthony Adjekum, Dan Waller, Jelena Budimir.
