Details
The story of the gypsy girl Carmen whose love and passion switch from one man to another with tragic consequences. Probably the world's most famous opera and tunes. A Spanish story of love, treachery, passion and betrayal. This new production is set in 1960s Spain, a country firmly entrenched in General Franco’s right-wing regime. Women are oppressed, the gypsies ghettoised, the country is riddled with poverty, and black-market smuggling is rife.
