CORONAVIRUS: 22Feb21 UpdateAll UK venues closed on 16th March 2020. After the Prime Minister's announcement it would appear that, subject to continued control of the virus, venues may re-open with social distancing and limits on audiences from 17th May. When their Mother sends Hansel and Gretel out of the house to look for food, the children quickly find themselves lost in the depths of a dark forest. Finally, almost starving, they find a house made of bread, cakes and sweets. No one's about; in their relief they begin to eat. However, the house is inhabited by a Witch, who hunts children to turn into gingerbread. She captures Hansel and Gretel, and begins to fatten them up, ready for the oven... Sung in English. Co-production with Lyric Opera of Chicago.
