CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020, work is underway to re-open safely. Some venues are showing on-line productions or outside productions - even a few covid safe internal ones and a number of tours and shows have been rescheduled for later in 2020 and throughout 2021. Puccini's most enduring opera. The story of the love of the poor poet Rodolfo for the consumptive seamstress Mimi. Set in the Latin Quarter of Paris the course of their love is constantly threatened by Rodolfo's jealousy and Mimi's illness. The painter Marcello and the provocative Musetta are the other main characters. This is where 'your tiny hand is frozen' comes from and the last few bars, as Rodolfo realises Mimi is dead, are some of opera's most moving moments. Sung in Italian with English surtitles

Performers Linda Richardson (Mimi), Aldo Di Toro (Rodolfo - Jun 27-Jul 11), Sean Ruane (Rodolfo - Aug 11-15), Grant Doyle (Marcello - Jun 27-Jul 11), George von Bergen (Aug 11-15), Tim Mirfin (Colline), Njabulo Madlala (Schaunard), Hye-Youn Lee (Musetta), Eric Roberts (Benoit/Alcindoro), Peter Kent (Parpigol), Henry Grant Kerswell (Customs Official).
