Details

Trapped in marriage to the impotent Zinovy, Katerina Ismailova embarks on an affair with an estate worker, Sergei, which triggers her slide into crime. A huge choral work completes the Season. David Poutney's triumphant 1986 award-winning production of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk returns in Stafanos Lazaridis' monumental sets in June 2001, a decade since it was last seen at the Coliseum. Performances end at approximately 22:00.
