New Production. The groundbreaking British film-maker Mike Figgis makes his operatic debut with one of the Italian composerâs most psychologically profound masterpieces. Figgis has directed some of the most significant cinema of recent years, including the Oscar-winning Leaving Las Vegas starring Nicolas Cage. Claire Rutter, star of ENOâs Zandra Rhodes-designed Aida, returns as Renaissance Italyâs darkest femme fatale, with rising young American tenor Michael Fabiano (who made an impressive UK debut as the Duke in ENOâs Rigoletto in 2009) as Lucreziaâs long-lost son.Performers Claire Rutter (Lucrezia Borgia), Michael Fabiano (Gennaro), Elizabeth DeShong (Maffio Orsini), Alastair Miles (Alfonso d'Este).
