Dramma per musica in three acts (1770). Mitridate's two sons are ideologically and emotionally opposed. Aspasia, is the intended bride of the king and the love of both his sons, although she returns only the affections of Sifare. The foreign princess Ismene who, after being spurned by Farnace, marries him in the opera's final reconciliation as the king faces death.
