Details

Bored and always looking for excitement, The Grand Duchess rebuffs her suitor and falls for a man who is already engaged to a local girl. Mayhem and intrigue follow, along with a solo in praise of the leek, cannons on the Fishguard hills and a secret passage in the bedroom at Picton Castle all helping to complete the comedy. Using the original score, Offenbach’s superb comic opera has been given a quirky Pembrokeshire twist and modestly adapted to take place at the time of the last invasion of Britain, near Fishguard with characters renamed to suit!
