With a large helping of Jamaican spice to give an alternative flavour, Roots in Boots has a unique combination of traditional and new. Steering the story is the bold and charismatic kitchen cat roots, who by night dons her classy boots and causes mischief and mayhem amongst the devilishly ugly sisters Unis and Prunella. In this version the magic is provided by an Obeah Woman (the traditional figure of Jamaican superstition) and the Prince has to master how to dance jungle style in order to impress the ladies at the ball. Full of soul, humour and music (including ragga, swing and R'n'B) Roots in Boots offers the audience all that is expected from the pantomime tradition and much, much more.
