From the Creation of the World to Joseph and his brothers in Egypt. 'To read it is to feel simultaneously at home, a citizen of the world, and a traveller through eternity.' Andrew Motion, Poet Laureate 1999-2009 The National Theatre will be taking part in the 400th anniversary celebrations for the King James Bible. An ensemble of leading NT actors, directed by Nicholas Hytner, James Dacre and Polly Findlay, will read twelve extracts from the Book that changed the world. Each extract, edited by Edward Kemp, will last approximately 80 minutes without an interval; please check the NT website for more accurate running times (from 8 October) and for casting updates.
