Fast-talking matriarch Big Maggie has a new life ahead of her. With her philandering good for nothing husband recently departed, life is looking up. But this is 50's Ireland; priests and patriarchs rule and her family remains her greatest love. What should she do about the amorous undertaker with an eye for her widow's purse? With her feckless brood of grown-up offspring demanding an iron hand, can Maggie find love and a life of her own?
