CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 but restrictions were lifted on 19th July 2021 with venues free to run shows to full capacity audiences after that though there are still issues with company members being forced to self-isolate on being 'pinged'. In September it is possible that a COVID vaccination certificate (or exemption) may be mandated for entry. Please note that iUKTDb archive listings between March 2020 and July 2021 may not be accurate as we did not receive details of all rescheduled and cancelled shows.
Lifting the lid on the asylum stories behind the headlines, this piece weaves together the lives of five individuals who have sought refuge in the UK. From Darfur to Iraq, each has been forced to flee in the face of death and each is haunted in a different way by the past. A poignant piece, filled with humour, that delves into the heart of the asylum debate. The title is derived from a proverb - a crocodile trying to escape the rain jumps in the river, as those fleeing in exile sometimes only add pain to their misfortune.Performers Gary Condes, Viss Elliot, Karina Fernandez, Daniel Kobbina, Nick Oshikanlu, Kath Rogers.
