As a clergy wife, Grace has spent a lifetime on her best behaviour. Now, following the death of her husband, Bardolph, she is enjoying the new-found freedom to do and say exactly as she pleases. But the return of her eccentric missionary sister, Ruth, together with some disturbing revelations, forces Grace to confront the truth of her marriage. With sharp-edged comedy and probing wit, the play asks whether God can be trusted to do anything right at all. This play was first staged at the Theatre Royal Bath in 2009 and starred Penelope Keith in the leading role. Chichester Festival Theatre Production. Set in a lavish garden,complete with real grass and plants and a stream with running water, Entertaining Angels is filled with sharp-edged comedy and probing wit. This entertaining comedy enjoyed a sell-out visit to Bath in 2006 and now returns prior to a West End transfer.
