A shabby backstreet Mancunian bookies shop lends the setting for this dark, lively and moving comedy. The odds weigh heavily against the characters that inhabit the world of organised gambling. It seems unlikely that any good can come from the compulsions, pitfalls and retribution that are the results of a serious gambling addiction. You're going to need one hell of a lot of luck to get out of this one and a whole lot of heart to see it through.
