In 'Getting the Picture', the year is 1845 and in these early days of photography, former US President Andrew Jackson is having his picture taken by a celebrated photographer from New York. But from Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland comes a young woman who challenges the ex-president to support a movement to break the union with Britain. Jackson, having already driven the British out of America, is inspired by her influences and by memories of his own heroic past.
