Habitats - Channels (France) archiveAn executive from a packaging company makes a presentation. A 40-year old actress with the mind of a child entertains two men. The hideous story of multiple murderer James Inwood is narrated using statements and testimonies from the infamous trial. Philippe Minyana's unique style and form, using real-life commentary, social issues viewed through the lens of popular poetry, non-dramatic structure and punctuation-free prose, has made him the most famous of French living playwrights. Habitats is his first play to be translated into English. A new type of translation exchange, initiated by the NT Studio. Rehearsed readings of five of the best French plays written in the last five years, translated by five of the best new British writers. On Fridays and Wednesdays throughout June.

Author: Philippe Minyana
Translation: Steve Waters
Director: Fiona Laird
