War is one uniting constant throughout all historical ages. In this 60th anniversary year of the end of WWII we look at Man s fascination with the topic - the horror and despair, and also the strength, friendship and hope that springs from armed conflict. The words and music of Glenn Miller, Bertolt Brecht, Wilfrid Owen, John Ireland, Gerald Finzi, Francis Poulenc, Kurt Weill and many others provide an evening of art song, cabaret and swing.
