When Harriet, the publisher at the feminist publishing house Love Is All Around (their motto is For Women by Women), rejects Leonard's new book because he is 'clearly not a woman', he decides there is only one course of action open to him...revenge! Within days he has reeled off the first chapter of a new novel, penned under the 'right-on' womanly pseudonym Myrtle Banbury, and entered it for the Love Is All Around competition for new writers.
