Trapped in the sandwich bar of a run-down, out-of-the-way railway station, a miss-matched group of would-be commuters embark on a journey to self discovery, and conspire to change their lives forever. While waiting for their trains - which never arrive - they resolve to take over the running of the Brief Encounter Tea Rooms.
