Imagine you re in a night-club. You scan the room, your eye falls on a couple, he s crying she s shouting. As you look away, you catch the gaze of a man at the bar: is he looking at you or simply scanning the room? You look again and see yourself in the mirror: is that really what you look like? Is that really what you want to show the world? Out of Nothing is closer to choreographed clubbing than traditional theatre: a sexy, feisty spectacle of fantasy. The production draws on all the contemporary arts, taking inspiration from drama, visual art, opera, and contemporary dance, and delivers them with plenty of dark humour.
