Phaedra I archivePhaedra I- by Athens-based Persona Theatre Company is a solo multimedia portrayal of a fascinating mythic heroine. The production's 3D mapping and minimalist aesthetics yields a highly poetic visual trip through Phaedra's stations of personal and public history. This is a contemporary and multi-sensory rendering of an insatiable desire for motion and for love. Phaedra embodies all the characters of the ancient myth passed onto us by Euripides, Seneca and Racine. Wishing to escape from the existential void that haunts her, she takes on their speech, their vulnerability and their obsessions, and stands for an archetype of the human quest for life and inspiration in a metropolis that suffocates within its ruins.
