Named after the Israeli military operation to expel native Palestinians from what was to become the State of Israel in 1948, Plan D is based on oral testimonies from Palestinians who lived through that war. Hannah used the first hand accounts of Palestinians who lived through the war, collected by Eyal Sivan, an Israeli documentary maker, as inspiration for the play.
