Precious is a dark comic drama which tells the story of Rhondda Packer who runs a guest house in the Valleys with her elder brother Tommy. She is constantly preoccupied with the meaning of her life through film images and themes. Tommy is an expert on Hollywood film and was responsible for taking Rhondda to see all the great movies when she was young. Her introduction to a young bit-part actor, drives Rhondda 'star struck'. Her vulnerability is obvious and both the actor and her brother misuse her weaknesses - they only have robbery on their minds.
