James Highwood is the charismatic host of a popular TV show, which sets out to expose alleged miscarriages of justice in the judicial system. Now he himself is on trial at the Old Bailey for the murder of his severely disabled child. Embarking on his own controversial defence case, Highwood clashes with both the Judge and the tough female prosecutor, a well-known Catholic and pro-lifer. Is mercy killing ever justified? What powers should a jury have? Is Highwood covering up for someone else? All these questions and more are raised in Terence Frisby's powerful courtroom drama, which provides entertainment and food for thought in equal measure.
