John Ford's tragedy
The Broken Heart is an examination of the virtues of courage, endurance and chivalry. Sparta having secured a great victory at war, looks forward to a time of celebration and happiness - its greatest hero Ithocles returning triumphant. However, peace does not settle into the hearts of the young generation. Instead suffering sets in, and true love withers in the face of a cruel and jealous arranged marriage. A play for anyone who has loved and lost.
Performers Amy Morgan (Penthea), Owen Teale (Bassanes), Luke Thompson (Ithocles), Liam Brennan, Brian Ferguson, Patrick Godfrey, Peter Hamilton Dyer, Joe Jameson, Adam Lawrence, Sarah MacRae, Sanchia McCormack, Tom Stuart, Thalissa Teixeira, Phil Whitchurch.
