The Croydon Tales archiveThe Croydon Talesis a theatrical trilogy of new writing pieces by Iranian born Katayoun Thurlow which comment on life in today's society. Director Elizabeth Newman explained, We show you the Croydon that really exists behind the reputation. Summertime shows Baz and Melanie meeting in a hospital corridor and revealing their inner most thoughts. Not always to each other but honestly to themselves for the first time in a long time. Place In The Mist gives an audience a rare window to an interview at Lunar House. The Rashidi's story shines a light on the more human side of asylum seeking in a time of confusion and a preoccupation with statistics. This play is to be part of Black History Month in South East London. Picking It Up has Surrey Street Market as its backdrop. It shows three mothers facing the grim reality of loosing their sons. It asks is death the most painful form of loss? Surely being left behind is the hardest thing? When is it time to start picking up the pieces?
