The Rashidi's story shines a light on the more human side of asylum seeking in a time of confusion and a preoccupation with statistics. This play is to be part of Black History Month in South East London. Picking It Up has Surrey Street Market as its backdrop. It shows three mothers facing the grim reality of loosing their sons. It asks is death the most painful form of loss? Surely being left behind is the hardest thing? When is it time to start picking up the pieces?
