The Devil in Drag archiveCentral Northern Italy, in the sixteenth century. Judge Alfonso de Tristano is one good man trying to uncover and stop the pervasive corruption of his society - a corruption that worryingly seems to emanate from the church under the leadership of the Cardinal and the Council of Inquisition! Tristano's job is made even worse by the devil Francipante and his assistant Barlocco, who is instructed to enter the judge's body in order to corrupt him. When Barlocco enters the wrong body - that of the judge's elderly housekeeper, the plan must change - he/she must try to seduce the judge instead! Mayhem and madness ensue, in this bawdy and hilarious comedy from Nobel prize winner Dario Fo. Not suitable for children.
