Details
An adaptation into Scots of Moliere's The Miser.
The Laird O'Grippy is about excessive greed, thwarted love, misplaced lust, petty revenge and other family values. This fast-paced comedy has been cleverly adapted into Scots from the classic by the seventeenth century French comic dramatist Molere and follows the antics of the miserly Laird who is so mean he even steals oats from his own horses. His strapped-for-cash son and daughter want to marry and hope for once the old man will help them out, but Grippy has other plans which include marrying the woman that his son has set his heart on.
