The London Merchant archiveAs a trading centre, London has always attracted powerful and ruthless people: the 18th century world of George Barnwell, a young apprentice corrupted by his lover, provides a powerful mirror to the 1980s city trader Justin Treves. Channel Theatre's fast moving adaptation takes a fresh look at George Lillo's electrifying 18th century play of greed and seduction. The action is updated to 1980's London and features live, original music performed by the cast.
