CORONAVIRUS: 22Feb21 UpdateAll UK venues closed on 16th March 2020. After the Prime Minister's announcement it would appear that, subject to continued control of the virus, venues may re-open with social distancing and limits on audiences from 17th May. Social distancing restrictions may be removed from 21st June. We will continue to update our listings as much as possible to reflect the changes as/when they are reported.
Creation is a nomadic creative force in Oxford, with a rich history of creating unforgettable theatre in unusual locations over the company's 17 year history. With the appointment of new Executive Director James Erskine, the company is embracing the power and possibility artistic collaborations, as well as arts/business partnerships, and The Factory's radical approach is a natural artistic fit. Blackwells hosted Creation for the first time inside its world-famous bookshop last spring with Doctor Faustus which proved so popular the run was extended and extra standing room added to cope with demand. Its recent production of Hamlet with The Factory also sold out. The actors will perform in the bookshop's Norrington Room, which lies under Oxford University's Trinity College Quad, surrounded by more than 200,000 books.
