1958. Andrew King and Wallace Drumney are a comic duo touring the regions, on the brink of success. They've been together for a decade, managed by schoolmate Poorly Jackson. But conflict grows over Andrew's laugh-grabbing departures from the script - not to mention Wallace's jealousy of his suave off-stage style. What Wallace doesn't know is that Andrew is having an affair with his wife. What Poorly doesn't know is that he'll be the first to go.
