CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 and there is currently no planned re-opening time though it will not be before 1st June 2020 and is most likely to be September (according to some West End producers).
Some shows have been cancelled, or closed early, but many are being rescheduled and we are trying to keep up with the changes - assume that anything posted for April to August is actually postponed or cancelled. It now looks likely that little will return till 2021.
Prudencia Hart is a collector of folk songs, an academic who has devoted her life to the study of folk material. She comes to the village fair in search of songs for her thesis âParadigms of Emotional Contact in The Performance and Text of Traditional Folk Song in Scotland 1572 - 1798â. After the fair she finds herself at a "lock-in" with the locals where songs are sung and stories told. Thatâs when she hears of the existence of the lost song, the song beyond song... the original song... the uncollected song. She sets off on a journey into the night to find it. Audiences are invited to share a "lock-in" with the National Theatre of Scotlandâs company of actors and participate in an evening of supernatural story-telling, music and theatre inspired by the Border Ballads, Burns and the poems of Robert Service.
