Travesties archiveIn Zurich, during the First World War, James Joyce (writer), Lenin (revolutionary) and Tristan Tzara (anarchic artist), swap theories, philosophies, and insults. These legendary thinkers are joined by Henry Carr (very minor official in the British Consulate and aspiring actor) as they find themselves staging a somewhat unorthodox version of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Ernest. Tom Stoppard's surreal and spectacular comedy gives you a glimpse into the minds of the men who shaped a century.
