You Might as Well Live archiveThe untold life of Dorothy Parker. 'I don't care what's written about me, so long as it isn't true.' Dissolute, glamorous and always provocative, Dorothy Parker was an American legend and You Might As Well Live is her story. In 1927, Dorothy was at the height of her fame as a wit, poet and socialite. A year later, she was a radical hothead who smuggled herself into Spain during the civil war and secretly joined the communist party. What sparked the transformation? And why did she lose everything in her battle for a better world? Dorothy's ferocious humour dominates as she crosses continents, battling depression and the bottle in her bid to escape celebrity and do one thing she can be proud of. Pandora Colin (NY-Lon, Black Books, Coupling) plays Dorothy Parker in a one-woman show that starts in 1927 and ends 40 years later in the same hotel. Running time 70 minutes You Might as Well Live website.
