Ashley J (EastEnders, Locked In, Trouble TV’s Bump n Grind) and Tee-J (BBC’s Kerching!, ch4 and MTV’s Dubplate Drama, The Bill) form A.C.T. - a comedy double act from East London. They got their first opportunity when they performed at Hackney Empire’s 291 Variety Show: an annual music competition that has aired on Channel 4. They performed a stand up comedy act, about the pressures of society from a young person’s perspective. By the end of it the audience were howling with laughter and singing along to their song about females who can’t cook properly; they were soon nicknamed the ‘fried fish boys’ and ‘the black Ant and Dec’.They now return to the Hackney Empire with their improvisational comedy show ‘ACTing UP’, a show where YOU the audience decide what happens.
