Mike Harding is a man of many talents. Beginning his career in the 1960s, Mike has been a folk singer, comedian, broadcaster, writer and poet. He brings his poetry tour to St Helens in May 2015. Mike has four published anthologies to his name and will be sharing some of his favourite poems here at The Citadel. Spend an evening in the company of the multi-talented Mike as he talks about growing up in Crumpsall in the 1950's in the shadow of a dark satanic cream cracker factory and tells a shedload of hilarious tales from his early life - from first day at infant school to the dribbling, snuff taking barmpot who dominated his first year in grammar school. He tells stories of the early 60's when he played in skiffle groups and rock ?n' roll bands in the Town Halls, the ballrooms and the Working Men's Clubs of the North of England before he discovered folk music and went on to become one of the nation's favourite funny men.
