The 18th Century Orchestra was founded in 1997. Its members recreate a Baroque atmosphere by wearing period costume and playing period instruments. A special Christmas production featuring Corelli's Christmas Concerto, excerpts from Handel's Messiah and Jeptha and music by Telemann, Torelli and Manfredini, the evening is washed down with eighteenth-century dialogue and a healthy sprinkling of mistletoe and holly plus a special visit from jolly old St Nicholas in the guise of the Master of Candles.| 10 Dec 04 | Georgian Theatre Royal Richmond, North Yorkshire Performance Details => Venue archive |
