The audience will be taken on a journey through many of the most famous moments that opera and music theatre can provide, with such favourites as Puccini's "O mio babbino cara" (famously lip-synched to comic success by Rowan Atkinson in the film "Mr Bean's Holiday") famous duets from "The Pearl Fishers"; and famous duets from 'The Pearl Fishers'; and 'Lakme', (which everyone now knows as the British Airways Ad.) and of course a collection of the more sublime moments of Mozart. For sheer beauty there is "Vilja" from 'The Merry Widow'; "Mon Coeur" where Delilah famously wins the heart of Samson; and the 'Evening Prayer' from 'Hansel & Gretel'. Or for boisterous drama there is the 'Toreodor's Song' from 'Carmen' followed by the seductively languid 'Habanera'; and then to end the first half, Brindisi from 'La Traviata'.Company Opera UK.
