Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to enter the festive spirit than with Carols by Candlelight at Stoke-on-Trent’s Victoria Hall on Sunday 15 December at 7.30pm. A new edition to The Victoria Hall’s Christmas season,
Carols by Candlelight is the most elegant way to herald Christmas, and sees the return of the critically acclaimed Mozart Festival Orchestra to the venue to get those Yuletide celebrations well underway. Presented in full 18th Century costume in an evocative candle-lit setting, this splendid festive concert is the perfect opportunity for audiences to enjoy and sing all their favourite Christmas carols. Highlights of the evening include Good King Wenceslas, It Came Upon The Midnight Clear, The First Noël, While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night, Once In Royal David’s City, O Come All Ye Faithful, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and O Little Town of Bethlehem. The orchestra will also perform joyous Christmas classics such as Handel’s 'Christmas Sequence from Messiah', Vivaldi’s 'Gloria (Opening Chorus)' and Mozart’s 'Musical Sleigh Ride'.
