The Great British Musical is a fundraising evening in aid of Perfect Pitch Musicals. A dazzling array of West End stars will showcase the very best in British Musical Theatre in an evening compered by the inimitable Stephen Fry. The singers will perform numbers by the famous and future of British writers from shows including The Lion King, Just So, Love Story, Aida, Blood Brothers, Salad Days, Stop The World I Want to Get Off, Betty Blue Eyes, Departure Lounge, The Go-Between, Through The Door and Lift. Perfect Pitch develops shows through a series of workshops, readings, showcases and production opportunities in collaboration and in partnership with theatre and non-theatre organisations around the UK. Perfect Pitch have been running for the last five years and during that time have had a good degree of success with productions of shows they’ve developed being produced around the UK and in the US, Europe and Korea. Such musicals include Departure Lounge by Dougal Irvine, which was nominated for BEST NEW MUSICAL 2011 in the Whatsonstage Awards and The Go-Between by Richard Taylor and David Wood which is part of this year’s Autumn season at West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Royal and Derngate and Derby Live.Performer Stephen Fry.
