'Joe' has an addiction to trainers. His trainers have consumed his identity and developed their own characteristics... physically and verbally. His story begins at the end point of his demise and journeys backwards through the chain of events that unravel how obsession and over indulgence has led to his dependence... When addiction took over his life and challenged his complete sense of normality. In Adi-Diction, Artcha James & Katie Pearson play with, cut up and re-mix time, reality, spoken word, dance, movement and filmic interventions to explore extreme addiction and a schizophrenic persona. Adi-Diction, is part of Temporary Residence a scheme that provides qualitative experiences for emerging and established artists/companies to produce work at BGAC. We focus on ideas and processes and prioritise artists committed to original and experimental cross artform or and/or cross-cultural work.
