Between - T0259883858Laban Theatre is delighted to present the premiere of Between, a beautiful new performance installation by highly regarded collaborative duo, choreographer Angela Woodhouse and Jerwood prize winning artist Caroline Broadhead. Between will be performed eight times across two days. Between explores the tension between visual spectacle and the hunger for intimacy. Three dancers perform in silence amongst their audience who are at liberty to move freely in the space. The audience becomes aware of minute yet charged interactions, sensitivity to temperature and breath, the power of touch, and bearing witness. These are set against moments of visual spectacle. The intention is to elevate a sense of humanity, of one's power and vulnerability in a technological world where much is made of the virtual connectedness and yet the visceral disconnection of one person to another. | |

Sighted - T40133532Sighted is their new installation for solo performer, Stine Nilsen (current co-artistic director and former dancer of Candoco Dance Co), which will be running at regular intervals for up to twelve viewers at a time. Surrounded by an expansive carpet of mirrors, Stine, with eyes closed, performs a fabric of delicate gestures. Sighted is concerned with our capacity to see and the urge to be looked at.
