Rummaging about in the rubbish heap of the modern cult of the hero, Austria’s provocative choreographer Chris Haring takes a twisted look at hero worship in a superhuman three-hander that ultimately celebrates the merely mortal. Haring, who lists DV8 Physical Theatre and Klaus Obermaier among his creative collaborators, uses song, dance and text to lay bare his anti-heroic trio on a stage that starkly highlights human vulnerability. But as they survive the worst that fate can throw at them, Haring teases us with the promise that, yes, we really can be heroes. Just for one day.
